Halloween Lights Add Safety
Halloween safety starts with lighting. Careful selection of lighting can make a great difference.
Halloween Safety Starts with Lights
Many of us are visited by small children on Halloween. In my neighborhood it can be as many as one hundred. I am located on the first street with houses adjacent to several blocks of apartments, and trick or treat is not well suited for apartments, so the children end up walking to my street. This is great. We enjoy Halloween.
Unfortunately, children get excited and run. If it is too dark outside children can trip over the smallest of things. So, it is important to have a well-lit celebration.
Every year new lights appear, so there are those lights available that are going to really make your yard or party look unique. Just search for them.
Lights Lining Walks
People place bags, or pumpkins, along walks with lights within. Some use candles, others use light bulbs. In either case it is best not to have a fire. Remember, some children have flowing parts of their costumes, and fire can become a hazard. And, even some light bulbs can get hot enough to ignite paper or melt plastic, especially when the heat is contained. Using LED lights is best.
Using LED Halloween Lights
LED lights are cool to operate, and using them can reduce the hazard of causing burns. And, LED lights are environmentally friendly. A Led has very low wattage. Many modern LED lights are battery operated, which can eliminate wires. With no wires one reduces tripping hazards.
Lighting the House
One or several scary items placed on the front of the house add to the atmosphere, and also add to the lighting of any areas that might be too dark otherwise. Getting light to the walk, and lawn since children will stray, does not have to ruin your Halloween decorations. In fact, a well-chosen light focused on a dark area can add to your decorative Halloween display.
Have a Party
Get extra usage out of your Halloween decorations by having a party. You and your guests can enjoy the same decorations that are used for safety. As guests come to the party, greet them with your outdoor display, which will also be the last thing they see as they drive away. This will provide a great first impression, and a lasting image. Have the party that others will rave about by using well-chosen lights.
Lights can thus serve two purposes. They can add safety while serving as wonderful decorations, and even be scary if you select well.
