Christmas Kitchen Décor
Christmas meals and parties often involve food, so people will find their way into the kitchen. Christmas kitchen décor should not be neglected. People will be there to see it, and it should carry the festive spirit of the season.
Why would anyone enter the kitchen? One reason is to help carry food from the kitchen to the dining room. Another reason is to help with the cleaning after the meal, including but not limited to the dirty dishes. Even if it just means carrying things to the kitchen, people will enter it.
Decorative Dish Towels
Decorative dish towels are easy to find. They can have quite detailed images on them. So, why not have a few for the occasion. And if there are to be several events at your home in rapid order, perhaps have enough to change them out between events.
This is an inexpensive way to decorate, and such a decoration can be accomplished using an item that is useful.
Potholders are needed to move hot food from the oven, or to handle any other hot dish. They are a must for the kitchen. So, as with the dish towels above, potholders can be used to decorate the kitchen while serving a useful function.
Trivets are needed to set hot bowls upon to save the surfaces on which they are placed. Even a brief encounter of a how bowl with a surface can leave permanent damage.
Trivets can be replaced with potholders, but then what would you use to handle hot items? Adding trivets, which can be transferred to the dining table with the food, is another easy way of adding to the décor of the season.
When people move food, spills happen. This could necessitate a need for washing of the hands. A greater need for washing of the hands occurs when people clear dirty dishes from the table.
Have decorative shaped soap out for people to use. This can be an invaluable addition to the kitchen.
Christmas Themed Cutting Boards
Cutting boards can be used for the final step in the food preparation. Use a Christmas themed cutting board, since it will be out and easily seen. And, if it is nice and Christmas themed, the cutting board can double as a serving tray when the food is brought to the table.
A bowl with candy for the helpers, even the self-appointed helpers, can be a welcome addition. Just set one out in an obvious place, then fill it with candy. Some wrapped candies come with special holiday wrappers, which can also enhance the decorative theme.
For something to bring from the kitchen consider the article Pies for Christmas and Thanksgiving Family Dinners. Pies are perhaps the easiest food to bring to a family dinner. Many pies can be kept at room temperature for long travel, and can add delight to the meal. Pies are tasty.
